Landscape

2016 ~

Landscape 9, etching on Hahnemühle white, 2016

The series of “Landscape” starts with a question about the imaginary world. Through this work, I explored how virtual world created with subjective imagination can exist beyond the layers of the dichotomy between reality and unreality.

This work shows terraforming process of the virtual world based on Gaston Bachelard’s theory about materialistic imagination and the principle of evolution.

Landscape series are virtual worlds appeared as a result of the combination of devised creatures based on anatomy research and the highly intense situation of death, creating an environment fatal to the imagined animals or plants.
