Landscape (2016-2017)

Landscape 9, etching on Hahnemühle white, 2016

The series of “Landscape (2016)” start with a question about imaginary world. Though this work, I explored how virtual world created with subjective imagination can exist having a meaning of existence, beyond the simple dichotomy of real and non-real. To achieve this, I created imaginary creature based on anatomy research and theory of evolution. Land is a simulated world devised to cause inevitable death of the creature, and the “Landscape” captures the moment of threat. The number of the editions implies repetition of existential danger, the trigger for the creature to evolve and reshape themselves.
